2009.07.30 - Energy of Hope Redesign Planned
Energy of Hope

Last night, the non-profit organization Energy of Hope was featured on the 6:00 evening news on FOX 4 in Kansas City. We collaborated to get some content posted on the website quickly because we expected a lot of traffic to go to the site—that is exactly what happened. The site traffic nearly tripled today.

As we have gone through the process of updating the website on a regular basis, we've come to the conclusion that the initial design elements need to be modified to best meet the needs of the organization. As a result, we plan on widening the page from 800 pixels to 1024 pixels. Additionally, we are going to try to organize the content more effectively and promote donations more than we do currently.

We are all excited for these modifications because the organization and design in general are great—there are just some basic changes that need to be made to optimize the potential of the website.

2009.07.28 - Kansas Custom Embroidery Built
Kansas Custom Embroidery

We created a new website for Kansas Custom Embroidery last week. This was a simple website for a friend. The purpose was simple—make a clean and professional website to show off the services that they provide. Since the site is basically a "resume" or "business card" site, we decided to minimalize the overall design to reduce the amount of whitespace. Additionally, we selected complimentary colors based upon the primary colors of the company. Finally, an image of an embroidery thread was used as a background image to add a bit of flair.

Kansas Custom Embroidery was pleased with how the website turned out—the colors, layout, and content all met their expectations.

2009.07.23 - BNI Olathe Chapter 4 Built
BNI Olathe Chapter 4

BNI is an international business organization designed on the premise of "givers gain". There are hundreds, if not thousands, of chapters worldwide, all competing for the best businesses to join their group. BNI Olathe Chapter 4 is a local chapter based out of Olathe, KS.

While we were designing this site, we wanted to incorporate a look and feel that extended the logo's horizontal lines. Additionally, we wanted to make the site appear professional and visionary while also keeping it clean and intuitive. As a result, images of clouds behind skyscrapers was chosen to represent future goals and high expectations. Stock photographs of business people interacting were added to various pages.

We have received several rave reviews of this website. Members of the group have said that it is far better than any other BNI chapter website that they've seen. Additionally, it is clean and very aesthetically appealing.
